August 27, 2023—It’s back to school time, and this week I hope you will check out the 10-minute Arts Engines’ videocast with Corey Williams, Associate Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Mr. Williams has nearly 20 years of experience working on university campuses and is widely regarded for his extensive expertise in securing resources for student support; overseeing Title IX programs, as well as building collaborative bridges between administrative and academic units.
In the interview with Arts Engines’ host Aaron Dworkin, Mr. Williams talks about the steps he’s taken to support performing arts students at the university, and the resources he has marshalled on their behalf. It is my hope that anyone working with youth studying the arts—especially high school and college students—will be encouraged by the actions he has employed to help them balance the demands of school and their personal lives.
As regular readers of Arts & Culture Connections know, I believe the Arts Engines’ videocasts on YouTube offer an ongoing opportunity to hear and learn from thought leaders on the frontlines of the arts industry. It’s free access to leadership development courses, brought to you by the institutional partners supporting Arts Engines—Detroit Public Television, Ovation TV, The Violin Channel and American Public Media.
You can find the interview with Mr. Williams at this link. As always, I want to know what you think. I invite you to share your comments below.
